What is it and is it right for you?
Applied Role Playing Games (A-RPGs) are a fun and engaging way for kids and emerging adults to make friends, develop social skills, and overcome challenges. (And maybe fight a few dragons along the way!)
A-RPGs use Tabletop Roleplaying systems (like Dungeons & Dragons) in a safe, structured environment to help participants de-stress, grow, and thrive.
What does a A-RPG session look like? Four to six players will meet with an A-RPG facilitator once a week for 90 minutes online over a video call. The facilitator is a trained adult who specializes in imaginative storytelling and working with adolescents.
During the session, participants will craft individualized characters, adventure into the unknown, and fight monsters in a digital gaming experience. Sessions will focus on participant's individualized goals like learning to cope with stress, working on social skills, or flexing imaginative muscles.
Who could benefit from Applied Gaming? Playing games is good for the mind and soul, so we think A-RPGs are a great fit for almost everybody. If you are looking for a good, healthy adventure for yourself or your child, A-RPGs are an excellent choice.
We also offer specialized groups for a variety of populations:
• LGBTQIA+
• Trans, Nonbinary, or Gender Questioning
• Neurodiverse
